In partnership with the Brooklands Museum Weybridge, home to the world’s first purpose built motor racing circuit over 100 years ago. AC Heritage are proud to announce the first phase of a display of original AC Cars artefacts and material. This new exhibition currently housed in the Brooklands Club House will be extended overtime and located in the refurbished Members Buildings.
Currently contained in the display are items removed from the last days of the Thames Ditton Works, including wage ledgers, company stamps, letter head printing blocks and images of the factory. Original Cobra build costing sheets and chassis stamps are also displayed, along with many of examples of the many awards and medals given to Mr S.F Edge on his record breaking laps of the Brooklands circuit in an early AC, along with medals awarded to the Honourable Victor Bruce and J.A. Joyce
Original mechanic’s arm bands and the Sunday Times sponsorship badges from the 1963 Le Mans 24 Hour Race in which the first AC Cobras entered under the Team Management of Stirling Moss. Included in this section are the scrutineer's sheets from the race and the shovel carried in both cars in case the drivers had to dig themselves out of the gravel!
So, what better reason to view the exhibition, whatever the period of AC Cars that interests you most, there is something for all ages. So help us to support the Brooklands Museum by making a visit to this remarkable venue.
