Unique AC pre-production prototype 4.6 quad cam Aceca. Development by AC Cars at the Brooklands factory the Aceca quadcam was the vision of the design team to produce a functional four seater GT coupe. The platform was an extended version of the Brooklands Ace which was fabricated from cromweld (stainless steel spec) the body was handcrafted in alloy and had composite bumpers and front fenders. The drive train was the Ford 4.6 Quadcam with a 5 speed close ratio gbox and lsd vented AP Brakes discs all round and independent suspension. This car was one of three the final of three prototypes in existence and the only car road registered as a quadcam car, photos of the car in production at the works are available and our staff are responsible for the bodywork when it was built at the Factory at Brooklands. The interior was featured in the launch brochure photos. This prototype has covered less than 15,000 miles and we are the only registered owners. Despite being fabricated at AC Cars Brooklands around ten years ago it was registered in 08 for road use. Finishing is required to the interior trim as this is a pre-production model, however, the vehicle goes like a rocket sounds fantastic and is unique. It comes with a V5 and current mot and copies of promotional material are available on request. This green vehicle seats four adults easily and is a genuine British GT car a must for an AC enthusiast, parts are available and we have the drawings and schematic for electrics so future repairs are not too much of a concern. The factory built Ford 4.6 quadcam motor sounds great and has ample power, this could be further developed. The car has an AM/FM stereo, CD player, leather seats, power assisted steering, power locks and tilt steering wheel. An interesting project and a unique opportunity to own a part of AC History.
